An Open Letter From BEST Shredding
Not all shredding companies are alike.
As you may be aware, several news stories have recently been published about ShredWise, a shredding company operating in the Lower Mainland. ShredWise is under investigation for suspected security breaches in managing the destruction of highly confidential and private documents. The news of ShredWise’ alleged negligent operating practices could erode the trust from companies like BEST Shredding, which operates under a higher level of secured operating practices, and are subject to third-party audited, NAID-certified operating procedures.
This certification process is intended to assure our clients that BEST Shredding has proactively adopted the most secure operating practices in our industry, and to avoid these types of security breaches. BEST Shredding has been certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) since 2009. We have an unbroken record of delivering award-winning customer service to our thousands of satisfied clients, and of operating in strict accordance with NAID’s AAA certified security standards. By partnering with a company like BEST, you ensure that all necessary security precautions are observed and that there is a proper chain of custody from the time that your documents leave your possession to the time they are recycled back into new paper.
Those shredding companies that choose to become certified by NAID have committed significant resources to ensure the security of the information that they handle on behalf of their customers. Non-certified members of NAID (such as ShredWise) have not made that same commitment to their clients’ information integrity.
We thank you for this opportunity to explain these differences. BEST Shredding is committed to offering the most secured certified services in our industry. If you have any questions about BEST Shredding’s NAID-certified service, or about information security in general, please contact us at 1-855-438-2378, or at info@bestshredding.ca.
Sincerely,
Kevin McCrum
Chief Executive Officer
