Nanaimo, BC – A Day of Shredding to Support Your Local Crime Stoppers
Back by popular demand, the Nanaimo & District Crime Stoppers in partnership with Save On Foods, Brooks Landing and Best Shredding, is hosting a day of confidential shredding. The event is set for Saturday, April 14th, 2018, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Brooks Landing location of Save On Foods, located at 2000 Island Highway, Nanaimo.
For a minimum donation of $20, your documents will be confidentially shredded by Best Shredding. As you wait for your documents to get shredded, help yourself to a scrumptious hamburger, grilled by volunteers with the local Crime Stoppers program and provided by Save On Foods. It should be noted that one hundred percent of all proceeds from the shredding and BBQ, go directly to Crime Stoppers. The documents will again, be confidentially and professionally shredded by Best Shredding, an island-based company that donates their time and energy in support of Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers is a registered non-profit organization that does not receive any form of government funding. Fundraising events such as these are essential to run a successful program. Shredding confidential documents also significantly reduces your chances of becoming a victim of identity theft. This type of crime can destroy you financially, wipe out your good credit and could take years for you to recoup your financial and personal losses
, said Constable Gary O’Brien, Crime Stoppers coordinator for the Nanaimo and District Crime Stoppers program.
The Nanaimo and District Crime Stoppers hope to see you on the 14th, rain or shine. If you have any questions about this event, please contact Constable Gary O’Brien, Crime Stoppers Coordinator for the Nanaimo RCMP at 250-755-3257.
